These are dark days. It's not just the weather, with the greyness dominating, with brief daylight and long nights. It's also the shadow of covid-19, especially the fear which has become so widespread. Today I read that Germany was going to have a strict lockdown over Christmas. If anyone would be able to cancel Christmas it would be Angela Merkel. The plans we may have for Christmas are still in the balance - how many guests can be there? Can we visit elderly relatives, or attend events where they will be? We are currently seeing rising numbers of positive cases and the Czech Government is considering making its measures stricter by shutting restaurants over the Christmas period.
