What’s a pandemic?

In one conversation earlier this week I heard a familiar complaint- this has been going on too long! The person in question was talking, of course, about Covid, and the latest figures showing more than ten thousand daily cases.

This week in Holland the government announced a partial shutdown of businesses- with a forced closure time of 6pm. What’s going on, in a country like Holland with a vaccination level of over 85% among the adult population?
